Partnering with WaterStep: Clean Water Solutions for Asheville and Beyond
At the heart of the Sweet Jam Benefit Concert for Asheville lies a mission to support communities in their most challenging moments. That’s why we’re proud to partner with WaterStep, an organization that brings expertise and dedication to disaster response through innovative clean water solutions. Their work embodies the spirit of resilience and hope, providing vital resources when they are needed most.
Swift Action in Asheville
WaterStep’s recent response to Asheville’s call for safe water containers highlights their extraordinary commitment to serving communities in crisis. By delivering hundreds of jerry cans, they ensured residents had safe options for water storage, preventing the use of unsafe alternatives. This swift and meaningful action demonstrated how even a simple resource can make a profound difference in people’s lives.
Transformative Efforts in Disaster Zones
Beyond Asheville, WaterStep’s reach extends to disaster-stricken communities across the country. After severe flooding in Eastern Kentucky, they deployed Water on Wheels (WOW) mobile purification carts capable of treating up to 10,000 gallons of water daily. These systems met immediate water needs for drinking, cooking, and sanitation, paving the way for sustainable recovery efforts.
Following Hurricane Helene, WaterStep again stepped up, delivering mobile water treatment solutions to Georgia. Thousands of residents left without safe drinking water benefited from their quick and effective response, showcasing the critical role they play in disaster management.
